What you'll be doing:

Housekeeping Supervisor - Goodenough College

  • £15.80 per hour
  • 40 hours per week
  • Working 5 out of 7 days, including some weekends 
  • Earliest start 8am, latest finish 8pm 

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to support the effective day-to-day operation of the housekeeping team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations across all assigned areas
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards are consistently met
  • Allocate daily tasks and schedules to housekeeping staff and provide support where needed
  • Monitor staff performance, provide on-the-job coaching, and report any issues to management
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, COSHH
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, inventory, and incident reports
  • Liaise with other departments (e.g., maintenance, front of house) to coordinate services and respond to urgent needs
  • Assist with recruitment, inductions and training of new team members
  • Promote a positive working environment and uphold high standards of customer service

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory or team leader role
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemicals
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities
  • Able to work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends if required
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Computer skills/ Excel skills 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and COSHH
  • Experience working in (e.g., an educational, hospitality, or healthcare setting)
