This is a rare opportunity to step into one of the most influential operational leadership roles within a nationally recognised business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Business Director will lead a £90M+ national portfolio, driving commercial performance, operational excellence and strategic growth across multiple UK client accounts.
You will operate as the number two leader within the division setting direction, leading senior teams and shaping the future of the business.
The Opportunity
As Business Director, you will provide strategic, commercial and operational leadership across a complex UK-wide portfolio. Leading through a team of Account Directors and Regional Managers, you will ensure consistent delivery, strong governance and sustainable growth across the division.
This is a high-profile leadership role with significant influence across the organisation, combining:
- Executive-level stakeholder engagement
- Full P&L accountability
- National operational leadership
- Client relationship ownership
- Growth and transformation strategy
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading a £90M+ national portfolio with full commercial accountability
- Driving business strategy, operational excellence and long-term growth
- Leading, coaching and developing senior operational leaders
- Building high-performing, engaged and accountable teams
- Owning divisional budgets, forecasts and financial performance
- Acting as Executive Sponsor for key national client relationships
- Leading complex negotiations, bids and strategic partnerships
- Driving governance, compliance and risk management standards
- Partnering with executive and central support functions across the business
- Championing innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement
About You
You are a commercially astute senior leader with the credibility, resilience and strategic capability to lead at scale.
You will bring:
- Significant experience leading large, complex national or multi-site operations
- Full senior-level P&L accountability
- Experience managing through senior leaders or Account Directors
- Strong commercial, strategic and financial acumen
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- The ability to translate strategy into operational delivery
- A track record of driving performance, engagement and growth
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable experience includes:
- Sector or divisional transformation leadership
- Complex mobilisation or restructuring programmes
- Operating within regulated or margin-sensitive environments
