What you'll be doing:

Are you someone who enjoys working with fresh food, takes pride in quality and presentation, and likes being part of a friendly, hardworking team?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time Catering Assistant to join our Eurest kitchen team.

This is primarily a back-of-house food preparation role, with responsibility for producing the fresh sandwiches, wraps, Panini's and deli products that form our daily deli bar offer.

You'll play an important part in making sure our food is freshly prepared, beautifully presented and ready for our customers each day.

Your working pattern

This is a 20-hour-per-week position working Monday to Wednesday.

Shifts will start between 6:00am and 7:00am, with finish times between 12:00pm and 1:00pm, depending on operational requirements.

The working days are fixed, and applicants must be available to work the advertised Monday to Wednesday working pattern on an ongoing basis.

As this is an early-morning production role, reliability and excellent timekeeping are particularly important

What you'll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

Preparing and producing a fresh daily range of sandwiches, wraps and deli products.
Preparing ingredients including meats, cheeses, salads, fillings and accompaniments.
Following recipes, specifications and agreed production quantities to ensure consistency.
Making sure products are prepared on time and our deli bar is fully stocked and ready for service.
Maintaining excellent standards of food quality, portion control and presentation.
Helping create attractive food and deli displays that showcase our offer.
Ensuring all products are correctly labelled, dated and stored.
Following all food safety, allergen and food hygiene procedures.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout food preparation and kitchen areas.
Following all relevant Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
Monitoring stock levels and following appropriate stock rotation procedures.
Helping us minimise food waste through careful preparation and production.
Supporting our chefs and wider kitchen team with additional food preparation when required.
Working efficiently to ensure daily production is completed within the required timescales.
Proudly representing Eurest and contributing to a positive, professional and supportive working environment.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who will bring a positive attitude and take pride in the food they produce.

Our ideal Catering Assistant will:

Be reliable, punctual and able to commit to the advertised Monday to Wednesday working pattern.
Be comfortable working early morning shifts, including starts from 6:00am.
Have a positive, proactive and can-do attitude.
Enjoy working with food and care about quality and presentation.
Have excellent attention to detail.
Be organised and able to manage their time effectively.
Work well both independently and as part of a supportive kitchen team.
Be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment and meeting production deadlines.
Understand the importance of food hygiene, allergen management and Health & Safety.
Be flexible and willing to support the wider kitchen operation when required.

Previous experience in catering, food preparation, sandwich production or a kitchen environment would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. We're equally interested in people with the right attitude, reliability and enthusiasm to learn.
